Jody Wilson-Raybould

liberal candidate in

Vancouver Granville

I have known and worked with Jody Wilson-Raybould for many years now, and I provide this endorsement with great certainty and pleasure.  Jody is among the best of a young generation of leaders - she is intelligent, experienced, diplomatic and widely respected.  She has the right mix of skills and depth of knowledge to address the complex challenges confronting our country today.  In particular, she is adept at working with people to find solutions to complicated issues-- I have seen her do it.  I have no doubt that she will make an excellent parliamentarian and representative of the people of Vancouver Granville, and British Columbia and Canada will be richer for it.

She represents Canadian values…She can lead, but she always listens first.  She sees problems and attempts to solve them, without the usual political denial that they even exist.  Throughout her career she has seen obstacles as opportunities to rise and refuses to be daunted in the face of adversity.

Canada needs more bright young leaders like Jody Wilson-Raybould who deeply cares about social issues, our environment, education, our economy, and is a progressive voice for Canada. And the additional fact that she is a former Regional Chief of the British Columbia Assembly of First Nations and a lawyer, she will be an important role model for future generations.

I have had the great honour to get to know Jody Wilson-Raybould personally over the past year and observe how she leads and inspires people around her. Our country needs Members of Parliament of her calibre and experience to help us reconcile our historical errors and move forward together to address the monumental challenges of our present and future. Jody is smart, generous and compassionate. She has won my heart and my vote.

Jody is one of the hardest working down to earth proven leaders I've known. ‎A real people-to-people listener who can effectively connect issues and communities. Jody Wilson-Raybould would be an exceptional MP who deserves our support.

Most Members of Parliament come from backgrounds in business and in law and that accounts for the tendency to focus government attention on issues economic and jurisdictional. We need greater diversity and expertise to represent broad Canadian interests and concerns in Parliament. Jody Wilson-Raybould – is just the kind of candidate for office who should be elected. She has a track record of experience that informs us of her values and her credibility on issues, including protection for the environment. Her determination to fight for what she believes is inspiring. She is tough, articulate and idealistic. She believes all Canadians will benefit by living up to treaties, taking into account Indigenous perspectives, and by reconciling with Aboriginal peoples. Canadians can show what we represent as the best of Canada by supporting people like Jody.

This new riding, that surrounds Granville Street running north from the Fraser River to the beginnings of downtown Vancouver, is a microcosm of all that’s great about the city I was once honoured to serve as Mayor. Vancouver-Granville deserves to be served by an outstanding and accomplished individual who listens as well as leads, who has demonstrated the range of rare and unique talents needed to best represent all who live in the riding and not just a select few, who has shown a remarkable ability to bring people together and get things done. Jody Wilson-Raybould is the candidate that stands above all others in what she can offer this riding, and our nation, at this crucial time in our history. I have no hesitation in asking you to support and vote for Jody Wilson-Raybould in Vancouver-Granville on October 19th.

Larry CampbellLiberal Senator from British Columbia and former mayor of Vancouver

I would strongly urge the voters of Vancouver-Granville to seize the opportunity to send this extraordinary and superbly-qualified Liberal candidate to Ottawa as your first Member of Parliament. Jody has accomplished great things during her short life. She has shown, again and again, that she works exceptionally well with people, bringing together different points of view and coming up with thoughtful and considered solutions to challenging problems. The fact that Jody is also a very respected First Nations leader is a real and timely bonus as we strive to make Canada work better for all Canadians. On October 19th, get Canada off to a fresh start, and elect the best candidate in Vancouver-Granville -- Jody Wilson-Raybould.

As the first Status Indian to serve as a Member of Parliament, and the first person of first Nations ethnicity to serve in the federal Cabinet, I am beyond delighted that Jody Wilson-Raybould is offering herself to public life. I have known, admired and respected Jody for many years. Her unquestioned intelligence and integrity, her proven track record of bringing people together and her devotion to openness and the democratic process are qualities that ensure the concerns and views of the people of Vancouver-Granville will be heard and dealt with in Ottawa. It has never been more vital that we elect truly outstanding people to help bring Canadians together to deal with the wide range of challenges faced by our country.
